OmniSync 是一个在有防火墙环境下的 NTPd 的驱动，当时间同步端口 UDP 123 被防火墙阻止后，它使得时间的同步可以正常进行，OmniSync 可以使用包括SNTS, IRC, ICMP, SNMP, precision time protocol (PTP -- IEEE 1588), HTTP, HTTPS (both also via proxy server), and (S)NTP via a Socks(5) 代理服务器等在内的协议进行时间同步。

最新的 1.0 正式版主要改动包括：

1. OmniSync 可以直接绑定在指定的网络适配器；
2. An ntp implementation that binds to an unprivileged port was added;
3. enabling regular ntp behind a restrictive firewall.
